Hash comes from the THC resin on the female cannabis plant and unlike pot that is dried and smoked hash is made and pressed into balls or cakes. Much of the hash that is in North America and Canada comes from the Middle East, Afghanistan, Pakistan and North Africa.
Hash can range in color from light tan, which is known as blonde hash to black and the texture can also be different ranging from dry to soft and crumbling. The color and texture will depend on the type of marijuana plant it comes from, because each strain produces different amounts and potency of THC on the female pot plant.
Hash is also possible for the home marijuana grower to make from their crop, while still having the pot to smoke out of the plants too, so for some cannabis growers it’s the best of both worlds.
